Our Story
Manitou Lake Gospel Jamboree -- An inspiring weekend of gospel, country, bluegrass, and southern gospel music since 2008
Manitou Lake Gospel Jamboree began because individuals wanted to support their community. The best way they knew how was through music.

Our founders
In 2009, community members organized a jamboree fundraiser to support the Manitou Pioneers Museum. The weekend included eleven groups, as well as numerous local talents. The organizers were so encouraged by the enthusiastic reception of the jamboree that they decided to host another jamboree the following year. Thus, the Manitou Lake Gospel Jamboree was born.
Manitou Lake Bible Camp was deemed an excellent choice for hosting a jamboree, allowing for attendees from Saskatchewan and Alberta to be within close driving distance, being surrounded by gorgeous Saskatchewan lake views, and working alongside a camp staff that encouraged their vision.

Changing facilities
The jamboree began in a large white tent located beside the dining hall. This was a strenuous tent to set up, and adding to the difficulty was that it was set up and taken down just for the jamboree.
During the second jamboree, a late May snow storm collapsed the tent. Thankfully, able-bodied volunteers hauled the instruments and equipment into the dining hall and the jamboree finished the weekend there. The next year, the jamboree moved to the lower grounds and set up a new tent there.
The jamboree has always acted as a fundraiser--first supporting the local museum and then the camp itself. As the jamboree has continued to support the camp through fundraising, it has also helped improve the sites facilities, raising money for the Tabernacle through sponsors and our generous attendees. Construction, materials and labour costs were all supported by jamboree attendees and some generous local community members. The Tabernacle is a permanent facility now on the lower grounds used for many purposes through the year.
We are so blessed to have such a wonderful facility and such generous supporters.

Growth
We have been blessed with many new and returning artists. Each year, these men and women touch us with their beautiful harmonies, faithful stories and love for God.
We have hosted a variety of soloists, quartets, cowboy poets, family bands and more.
If you know of an artist or group that you would love to see at our jamboree, please let us know!
Our current committee
This jamboree would not be possible without our dedicated committee over the years. They put in countless hours organizing food and accommodations, answering questions, communicating with artists and scheduling our incredible weekend.
